I looove me some clothes. I've settled down over the years (let's not talk about my regrettable gem sweater phase), but my closet is still bursting with some vintage threads that I love and cherish. That said, shoes have never been my thing. I'm not exactly sure why, but plain black ankle boots are about the only shoes that I can bear to put on my feet.
However, today I found out about the virtual shoe museum, a website devoted to shoe design, photography, and even art. Their gallery of experimental shoes provides hours of browsing pleasure... but my feet ache just looking at most of the designs. The art and "kinky" sections also represent good clean fun. Brian Jungen's Pacific Northwest Nike sculptures are heavily represented, so what's not to like? If a shoe scrooge like me can get this much enjoyment out of the site, imagine what the rest of the world will think!
