Standing on a Jumper

Sheep500x602_2Dutch artist Christien Meindertma is a designer who serves as the connection between a sheep farmer, a graphic designer, and a knitter.  Her designs include this fantastic oversized cableknit rug made from the wool of 18 Merino sheep.  In addition to the rug, her knitwear collection includes mittens, cardigans...and a POOF made from felted Kyrgyzstani wool.

If you check out her FLOCKS website, you'll find more descriptions and photos of her work, as well as pictures of the knitting process for the giant knit rug.  Those 18 sheep aren't running around bald for nothing!

LINK thanks, Elizabeth!

Ohhh...I want to roll around on it and sniff it.....
I don't get out much.

How do I buy one of these cable knit rugs?
