I've always thought of chainsaw art as Extreme Craft, but I've never had a reason to put up a post about it...nobody (that I know of) is making Paris Hilton totem poles or sculptures of thousands of smurfs climbing a large phallus. Thanks go out to new Extreme Craft reader Jen for alerting me to the chainsaw.net website. Chainsaw.net is a...guild of sorts for chainsaw artists. Around sixteen artists use the site to coordinate appearances and contests, share their work, and promote the art of the chainsaw.
Not only that, but they're marketing their own CHAINSAW, formulated specifically for carving. The Redmax G3200 was discovered by the group during a contest in Japan when a prototype was presented to them. According to the website, it was pure carving nirvana--light, powerful, and remarkably agile. You can buy your very own through the website, and start practicing. You know you want to start with trees rather than ice or melons, so GET ON IT!
