I had an amazing time on my trip to Ohio State University. Who knew such extremity lurked in the hearts of Midwesterners? I did, of course. I got to see a requiem for a glue gun, eat Thai Spice ice cream, and visit with a bunch of amazing artists, including Daniel Hoffman. Daniel just sent me video of a Gonzo-style printmaking project he did during a visit to Rome.
Printmakers are an interesting lot...generally very buttoned down and interested in explaining the new intaglio process they created with ramen noodles and zinc plates. I never thought there was an underground scene where printmakers drew inspiration from Johnny Knoxville and the Jackass crew. Check out this amazing collaboration that Dan did with the (admittedly, very talented) drivers of Rome. Elephants get to make art...so do 6-year old girls, so why should your car be any different?
