Sigh. I was just talking to my classes today about how much I miss DragonCon, which just took place over the Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta. The highlight of the festival was always the parade, which features a legion of stormtroopers, a batallion of Klingons, and plenty of other assorted costumed Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Battlestar Galactica fans. There is always plenty of D.I.Y. moxie on display at DragonCon, and you can often see immaculately made superhero costumes, including custom-molded plastic pieces.
Over the past few years, though, rough-n-ready cardboard costumes have been ascendant. To wit, check out this amazing cardboard Chewbacca (pictured above) from this year's Con. I miss you Atlanta!
